WEDDING

IRVINE—MYGIND A very pretty wedding took place yesterday at the Methodist Church, Masterton, when Phyllis, younger daughter of Mr and the late Mrs A. Mygind, was married to Hedley Campbell, elder son of Mr and Mrs H. V. Irvine, of Takaka. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore magnolia satin cut on classical lines, and carried a sheaf of St Joseph lilies. Her veil was kindly lent by Mrs I. M. McLaren. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss E. Mygind, who wore pink net over satin with halo to tone. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and carnations, and wore a gold necklet with ruby inset, the present of the bridegroom. The duties of best man were carried out by Aircraftman M. Irvine, brother of the bridegroom. Messrs Brydon and Gordon Mygind acted as ushers. The Rev H. S. Kings was the officiating minister, and Miss C. Donald presided at the organ. The church was beautifully decorated with pink hydrangeas and hollyhock by friends of the bride. During the signing of the register, Miss D. O’Donnell sang “God’s Garden.” The reception took place at the Methodist Children’s Home, where the guests were received by Miss Allen, matron of the Home, assisted by Mrs Irvine, mother of the bridegroom. The usual toasts, including the health of Sgt. Pilots W. J. and V. C. Mygind, R.N.Z.A.F. (overseas) were honoured. Miss D. Jamieson entertained the company with the solos, “All Joy Be Thine” and “Salaam.” Later Mr and Mrs H. C. Irvine left for the south, the bride travelling in a light Wedgwood blue ensemble with navy accessories. Their future home will be in Upper Takaka.
