JAPANESE FIGHTER PILOT. LURED TO HIS DOOM BY NEW ZEALANDER. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, December 29. A New Zealand fighter pilot, serving with the R.A.F. in India, lured a. Japanese pilot into crashing his plane. The New Zealander found the Japanese on his tail in an air battle over Chittagong during a Japanese raid. He immediately dived his fighter towards a tree-topped ridge, and the Japanese pilot followed. Close to the ridge the New Zealander zoomed upwards again but the Japanese apparently knew nothing about hedge-hop-ping and plunged onwards towards the ridge. When the New Zealander looked back, he could’ see smoke rising from among the trees on the ridge.
