The police state that there were at least fifty separate fights at one stage. One arrested man had almost every piece,, oi clothing torn from his body and he was placed in a military truck wearing only his shoes and socks. A number of people were treated for minor injuries. Peak traffic in the popular seaside suburb was held up for an hour.
