Christmas Inebriates.

Eight charges of drunkenness against offenders arrested in the city during Christmas were dealt with in the Magistrate’s Court, Wellington, yesterday morning, when fines varying from 5s Io 10s were inflicted. Four of the offenders were women, one of whom, a domestic and waitress, aged 22, was found drunk in Eva Street at 11.10 p.m. on December 24. Another, described as a secretary, aged 36, was found drunk in Wakefield Street at 2.45 a.m. on December 25. The third woman, aged 34, was found duunk on the Wellington railway station on December 24, and the fourth, aged 56, was found at the Katherine Mansfield Memorial on December 26.
