RED CROSS SOCIETY EXAMINATION RESULTS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The following are the results of recent home nursing examinations held in connection with the local sub-centre of the Red Cross Society:—Bar to Medallion, Miss Gregor; Medallion, Mrs Halpin; intermediate, Misses Currie, J. Hardie, Nola Reed, Elva Reed; elementary, Misses Jean Burt, M. Dick, M. F. Martyn, Edna Wilkinson. All the candidates who sat passed. During December the sub-centre sent to the Masterton centre of the Red Cross Society 7 pullovers, 4. dozen and 5 bottletops, and 15 pairs of pyjamas. SERVICE CLUB WEEKLY CARD PARTY. There was a good attendance at the Service Club’s weekly euchre party. The prize-winners were: —Mr D. Holland, 1; Mrs Symons, 2; Mrs Lowell, 3; Mrs Kinsey, 4. The consolation prize was won by Mrs Muir, and a competition by Mrs McKenna. Personal Items. Miss Joan Marshall celebrated her coming-of-age on Tuesday by entertaining her many friends at a picture party. Afterwards the guests adjourned to the Royal Hotel for supper, during which Mr S. Batcheloi' proposed the health of Miss Marshall, and Mr M. B. Tait the health'of the local soldiers overseas. , Miss Marshall was the recipient oi many beautiful gifts accompanied by good wishes for her future. COSY THEATRE “THEY MET IN BOMBAY.” Tonight’s programme will be headed by the outstanding drama, ‘They Met in Bombay,” in which Clark Gable and Rosalind Russell have the leading roles. Tomorrow night “High Sierra, a thrilling drama, will be shown, with Humphrey Bogart, Ida Lupino and Alan Curtis in the chief character. The programme is a particularly gooa one.
