The vacancy on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ - Board caused by the death of Mr H. D. Acland, was discussed at a meeting of the Mid-Canterbury Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union, and the following recommendations were drawn up to be sent to the board: —(1) That no person appointed be a director of any freezing company; (2) that no person appointed, or members of his family, should hold collectively any substantial share interest in any such company, and any holding should be disclosed to the board; 3) that the person appointed should be engaged actively in primary production.
