WHATMAN SCHOOL

END OF YEAR ACTIVITIES. FINE DISPLAY OF WORK. The end of the school year was marked by a most successful parents’ day, when the school was thrown open to parents, guardians, and friends. The programme opened with some fine displays of drill by the juniors (Mrs Jenkins), Middle Division (Miss Peterson) and seniors (Mr Johnstone), at the conclusion of which those present showed their appreciation in no uncertain manner. Class rpoms were then visited, and gn interesting time spent in examining the children’s work for the year, including some excellent examples of art and craft work, the quality of which drew forth many appreciative remarks. Afternoon tea was .then served at the schoolhouse, and a most .enjoyable time brought to a close. the school committee, the children were given, a regular feast of ice cream, ' while' each primer pupil received a baljoon. Hearty cheers were given for . the donors.'
