PRISONERS OF WAR
INQUIRY OFFICE ADVICE TO RELATIVES NEED OF NOTIFYING CHANGES OF ADDRESS. PARCEL ACKNOWLEDGMENTS RECEIVED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Owing to mpny letters reaching New Zealand stating that P.G. 65 is a permanent prison camp, the Prisoners Of War Office, Wellington, has cabled Geneva regarding this and also regarding P.G. 66, 75 and 65, as a considerable number of woollen coupons have been returned to the office stamped by the postal authorities: “Gone, no , address,' or “Return to sender," or “Not found." Next of kin must realise that it is detrimental to the interests of a prisoner of war if they do not immediately advise their changes of address. . Close on 500 acknowledgments of personal parcels were received this week, a majority of the cards receipted as late as September 28. It may hearten some that the first letter has just been received from a soldier captured in Crete in May, 1941. He had been reported as having been in Germany, but it turns out that he is in Italy. He says, that, owing to circumstances he is unable to relate, it has not been possible for him to write for a year. „ The total number or prisoners officially notified is now slightly over 8.000.
