THAT CHURCHILL IS BOUND FOR WASHINGTON NO CONFIRMATION IN LONDON. PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT’S COMMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) WASHINGTON, December 18. Quoting reports from Lisbon, the Swedish newspaper “Allehanda” says Mr Churchill went to Washington today to confer with President Roosevelt on the position of the French colonies. There is no confirmation in London of this report. A Washington message states that at a Press conference, President Roosevelt, replying to questions abouit the Lisbon imports that Mr Churchill was en route to Washington, commented: “That sounds like Lisbon.”
