1 BY JAPANESE TROOPS ACCORDING TO PARIS RADIO FIGHTING IN CHINDWIN AREA. ENEMY FLEET OPERATING ‘ IN GULF OF BENGAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, December 18. The Paris radio announces tonight that Japanese troops had entered India from Burma and had penetrated fifty miles. The radio added that a Japanese naval formation had begun operations in the Gulf of. Bengal and off the west coast of Burma, and that fighting was in progress between Japanese and British troops in the Chindwin area.
