A fireman was killed, 128 people were overcome bv smoke, and 1000 guests escaped injury when a fire occurred in a sub-basement of the; 22storev William Penn Hotel in Pittsburg. The fire chief said it was the worst smoke battle in the city’s history. The damage is estimated at 75,000 dollars.
