A proceeding by summons by Carlyle Ferguson, journalist, against the Minister of War Organisation of Industry, Mr Dedman, requiring him to show cause why the restrictions dealing with Christmas shopping should not be . declared invalid, was dismissed. The judge held that the proceeding was against the wrong party, since the order was made by the Rationing Commissioned Ferguson said .he would issue a writ accordingly to test the validity of the regulation (made by the Governor-General) and the rationing order (made by the Commissioner.)
