SCHOOL COMMITTEE
FINAL MEETING 01* YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) The local School Committee'held its final meeting of the year recently, all the members being present. A social gathering is to be tendered the children on the evening of the breaking-up day. The chairman extended to members the season’s greetings and thanked them for their support. Personal items. Miss Bessie Carter returned from Napier yesterday. Mr W. Hodges, Wellington, was a weekend visitor 1 to Pirinoa. • Lieutenant Manihera, Maori recruiting officer, attended a meeting of the local Tribal Committee held here at the weekend. Mr Warne, Lower Hutt, is . staying with Mr and Mrs F. Lovegrove. Wing-Commander Wells was recently the guest of Mr TV. T. Hume. Mr and Mrs H. Lovegrove, Featherston, were the guests of Mr and Mrs F. Lovegrove at the weekend. Mr J. Smart was a visitor to Pahiatua for a few days. Mr B. Roberts, M.P., was a visitor here at the Weekend., Mrs Trounson, who had been under medical treatment at Carterton, has returned home. Private Maurice Jennings visited his parents for a few days. Mail Service Restored. The mail service which had not operated on Saturdays for the past month, has been restored.
