MASTERTON CLUB ‘ SEASON OPENED LAST NIGHT. RESULTS OF EVENTS. The season of the Masterton Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club was declared open by Mr H. E. Pither at a gathering held in the Dixon Streetbaths last night. There was a fair attendance of the public, and the various events resulted as follows: — 25 yards Junior Boys’ Handicap: J. Williams 1, J. Allsworth 2, R. Oakley 3. Time ,21 2-5 sec. 25 yards Ladies’ Handicap: F. Ihaka 1, M. Stewart 2, M. Pauling 3. Time, 21 1-5 sec. 50 yards Intermediate Handicap: F. Sexton 1, L. Wickens 2. Time, 32 1-5 sec. Ladies’ Dive: J. Gray 1. M. Pauling 2. Junior Boys’ Dive: J. Williams 1, Gleeson 2, J. Allsworth 3. Men’s Dive: Franklin 1, F. Sexton 2. 100 yards Men’s Relay: A.D.U. No. 2 1, A.D.U. No. 1 2, Army 3. Time, 63 4-5 sec. 50 yards Men’s Handicap. —First heat: D. Allen 1, Dermer 2, Franklin 3; time. 37 1-5 sec. Second heat: Byrne 1, Clay 2, Barnett 3; time, 36 1-5 see. Final: Byrne 1, Allen 2, Dermer 3; time, 38 1-5 sec.
