TO LORD MAYOR OF LONDON. FAITH IN CONSTANCY OF PEOPLE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 9.50 a.m.) RUGBY, December 14. The King, who reached the age of 47 today, in a message to the Lord Mayor of London thanking the citizens for their birthday message, said: “We have every reason to be thankful for the recent successes vouchsafed to the arms of the United Nations, and, however long the achievement of victory and peace may take, I know that the courage and perseverance of the people of London will never fail.”
