The Senate Civil Service Committee unanimously approved a Bill providing increased pay for over a million Federal employees, including time and a half for hours worked above forty weekly, except those covered by Labour Board contracts, elected officials, judicial and legislative employees. The Bill provides for ten per cent increases for judicial and legislative employees on all salaries to 2.900 dollars a year, and a similar increase to postal employees paid on a mileage basis.
