■❖ 1 - WOMEN’S WAR SERVICE MEETING OF COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) A committee meeting of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary was held yesterday, there being present Mesdames H. E. Ordish (in the chair), W. H. Hall, Miss O. W. Wolters and Mrs F. L. Barr. The president advised that the appeal for helpers to make camouflage nets had been rather disappointing, and expressed the hope that more workers would make their services available in the near future, as the nets were urgently required. It was reported that members of the W.W.S.A. committee had attended the State Theatre on a recent evening when the Cycling Corps were drilling. Opportunity had been taken to express appreciation of Miss M. Dunn's valuable assistance to the Cycling Corps since its inception, and best wishes were extended to her for success with the Armed Forces. Mrs Ordish voiced the committee's appreciation of and gratitude for the willing services rendered by the canteen workers during the past months. Thanks were also due to the various women’s organisations who had so willingly and liberally provided free suppers every Sunday evening, to the men who assisted so regularly at the camps and to the local exchange operators for their attention and courtesy. ENGAGEMENT BODEN—BROWN. The engagement is announced of Myra, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr D. Brown, of Carterton, to Seaman Malcolm Boden, elder son of Mr and Mrs A. L. Boden, also of Carterton. DRUIDS’ LODGE INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS. The ballot for the office of district president was taken, the result of which will be known through Grand Lodge at a later date. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £6 6s were passed. The Arfch Druid, Bro H. J. Bassett, extended season’s greetings to members on whose behalf the Vice-Arch Druid reciprocated. The lodge adjourned for harmony, the visitors being entertained at supper.
