“SECRET AGENT OF JAPAN.” Tonight’s programme will be headed, by the exciting drama, “Secret Agent of Japan,” a timely picture abounding with thrills. The story is most vividly told and presents the treacherous Japanese in their true colours. The espionage operations of an unscrupulous gang are seen in their ruthlessness, and the gallant efforts made to defeat the fifth columnists make an immediate appeal. With the war so close to New Zealand the picture will give an excellent idea ol what must be faced where the Japanese use methods which ai’f altogether foreign to those countries who play fair in trade and in war. The leading roles .are taken by Lynn Bari and Pres, ton Foster. The associate picture is a delightful comedy drama, "Small Town Deb,” in which Jane Withers is seen in a role which particularly suits her. The first chapter of an exciting serial, “Terry and the Pirates,” will be shown at the matinee on Saturday afternoon. A chapter will be shown each week of this particularly good children's story.
