4 DEMONSTRATIONS IN TEHERAN MARTIAL LAW PROCLAIMED. TROUBLE OVER TEMPORARY BREAD SHORTAGE. (By Telegraph—(Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LONDON, December 10. Martial law has been proclaimed m Teheran after demonstrations in Parliament Square, followed by noting and looting in the shopping quarter. Persian troops and the police fired on a mob and arrested looters. The situation is flow quiet, although most of the shops are closed. The demonstrations are believed to have been caused by a temporar- bread shortage, which the Government promised to relieve within two days-.
