The nationalisation of the Australian aircraft industry after the war has been urged by the Air Minister, Mr Drakeford. “Control of air power must not be allowed to pass into the hands of a privileged class of any nation,” he said. “The trickle of aircraft which came to Australia in the darkest days is now swelling to a flood. When the war began, Australia had one flying school, with sixteen instructors. Today Australia has a formidable air striking power.” I
