TREASON FELONY
FOUR MEN ON TRIAL IN BELFAST EVIDENCE OF VICIOUS CONSPIRACY. FOUND IN POLICE RAID ON ARMS DEPOT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) BELFAST, November 25. During the trial of four then for treason felony, the Attorney-Gen-eral (Mr J. C. McDermott) told the Belfast City Commission that the police had discovered I.R.A. plans for a new campaign of “stark and callous violence.” Mr McDermott said one man was arrested on September 10 at his work place, after which the police raided his house, but were met by gunfire. Nevertheless they forced their way in and arrested two more men. The house was being used as the headquarters of the I.R.A. northern command. The police discovered a quantify of arms and l ammunition and also a speciallyconstructed chamber, under the floor of an upper room, in which there were a* large number of documents containing incitements to revolt. A fourth man was arrested two months latex. The documents seized instructed that the police be singled out and shot clown and public services disrupted.
