The R.A.F. lost by 18 points to nil. Their captain, Group Captain G. A. Walker, was knocked out before half time. Macdonald carried him off, “as if he were a baby in arms, with the greatest care,” observed the “Evening News.” Macdonald has been dropped from the R.A.F. team to play the Royal Navy on December 5, but New Zealand will be represented by Flying Officer Eric Grant, of Gisborne, a member of the R.N.Z.A.F.
