PRISONERS IN MALAYA
TREATMENT BY JAPANESE. REPORTS VERY SCANTY & UNCONFIRMED. (“Times-Age” Special.) (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) RUGBY, November 25. The Colonial Secretary (Mr Oliver Lyttelton) informed the House of Commons that it was still not possible to obtain official information regarding the whereabouts of members of local forces and civilians captured in Malaya. Verv scanty and unconfirmed reports have so far been received. He added that he did not suggest that the treatment of British civilians had been unduly harsh.
