REGENT THEATRE
“DARK JOURNEY” Conrad Veidt and the beautiful star Vivien Leigh will be seen at the Regent Theatre tonight and Wednesday in “Dark Journey,” a thrilling and romantic drama of counter espion age in Stockholm. Although a neutral capital, Stockholm was a happy hunting ground for spies of all nations. Von Marwitz, ostensibly a deserter from the German Navy, is a mysterious and fascinating figure in Stockholm’s gay night life. He falls in love with Madeleine Godard, whose fashionable dress shop provides a means of communication with . Paris and a cloak for hei' political activities. Thrilling highlights in the powerful and unusual plot are the encounter of a “Q”-ship with a German U-boat and several other stirring sea scenes. The story, which is full of surprising twists, reaches a thrilling and unexpected climax. RADIO REVUE REGENT THEATRE ON SUNDAY. An excellent radio and military revue will be presented at the Regent Theatre on Sunday next at 8 p.m. The 2 ZB radio concert party, in conjunction with a military band and also artists from all parts of New Zealand, will render items that will constitute probably the best programme Masterton has seen for many months. The programme is being presented under the auspices of the Interhouse Association and the gross proceeds will go to patriotic funds. The box plan is now open at the Regent Theatre.
