The release of 250 French prisoners of war is hailed by the German-con-trolled French Press as proof that Germany is honourably carrying out her word and releasing French prisoners. As Frenchmen are as good as Germans at arithmetic and better at common sense they know, that the release of 1.200,000 prisoners at 1000 a day would take three years. Germans rant in vain when they deplore the failure of the French to appreciate their kindness.
