BY AMERICAN TROOPS ON GUADALCANAL IN FACE OF STUBBORN RESISTANCE. CONTINUOUS AIR ATTACKS ON ENEMY. ■(By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, Noon.) WASHINGTON, November 23. A Navy Department communique says:—“On November 22, the advance of the United States forces on the Yvest flank of their positions on Guadalcanal continued slowly, in face of stubborn enemy resistance. No other ground activity is reported. United States aircraft, from the airfield on Guadalcanal, cai’ried out continuous attacks on enemy positions west of the Matanikaa River.”
