PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) Private A. Smart, who was reported wounded recently, is a brother of Mr Jack Smart of this district. Mr and Mrs Riley were recent visitors to this district. Mrs E. Taurau has left on a visit to Wangaehu. Mr S. Thomas, who has been postmaster at Pirinoa for the past three years, has been accepted for service in the Air Force, and will enter camp on Wednesday. Mr Thomas has been a most capable and courteous officer and is most popular with local residents. He has taken a prominent part in social, sporting and other activities in the district. As the secretary of the local patriotic committee since its inception he has rendered yeoman service. Bad Weather for Shearing. The weather conditions since shearing started in this district have been most unfavourable.
