The delayed slaughter of lambs, the increasing shortage of manpower, railway rolling stock and road transport must all combine to create congestion at freezing works from now until after the holidays. The last killing date without penalty for baconers of a top weight of 1801bs. is on December 31. Producers are, therefore, warned against delay in getting thier pigs away which are over 1601bs. books weight and also those which arc likely to exceed this , top weight before works are reopened in January.
