HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB. FEDERATION RACE. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a federation race for yearlings on Saturday from Mercer, an airline distance of 253 miles. The weather conditions made flying very slow. The following was the result:—Grant and Forresters Black Pete (time, 8 hrs. 15 min. 31 sec.), 1; L. Wickens’s Ramona (8 hrs. 15 min. 41 sec.), 2; L. Wickens’s Lucky Doubt (8 hrs. 15 min. 48 sec.), 3; J. Mayes’s Red Chief (8 hrs. 17 min. 50 sec.), 4; J. Mayes’s Electro (8 hrs. 18 min. 39 sec.), 5; A. Pinkney’s Express (8 hrs. 19 min. 19 sec.), 6. The next races will be from Ohakune and Taihape.
