‘HI GANG.” Tonight’s programme will be headed by the outstanding musical comedy, “Hi Gang.” The plot shows Bebe Daniels and Ben Lyon as Mr and Mrs and as commentators for rival American Broadcasting Stations, with Vic Oliver playing the role of a wellmeaning duffer who works with Ben Lyon and upsets all his scoops, getting them the sack on two occasions. After a series of comic happenings, the trio finish up in England, still double-crossing each other, to broadcast from an old English castle. Thanks to Vic Oliver’s misspent energy, the stars engaged for the broadcast are told they are not wanted and the three give an impromptu “Hi Gang” radio show with performers drawn from the ranks of the R.A.F. and W.A.A.F. The numbers, sung by Bebe Daniels, Ben Lyon and Sam Browne in “Hi, Gang-” include “Hi, Gang,” “Singing to a Million,” “We Chose the Air Force,” “They Call Me Sal” and “My Son.” The film has an original and amusing denouement.
