OFFENSIVE THREAT
JAPANESE MASSING IN BURMA CHINESE WELL PREPARED. WITH AMERICAN AIR SUPPORT. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received* This Day, 11.0 a.m.) CHUNGKING, November 19. A Chinese military spokesman said the Japanese had commandeered all rail equipment in Burma, massed, upwards of 300 planes and assemoled collapsible boats and other equipment necessary for crossing the turbulen Salween River. The Japanese objectives are the capture of. Kunming and the disruption of the air service between India and China. An offensive is expected at any moment, but the Chinese have made full preparations, in which American air forces are participating.
