P. & A. SOCIETY
MEETING AT CARTERTON
DISTRICT LAMB COMPETITION. COMMITTEE'S ACTION ENDORSED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr O. A. Cadwallader presided over hie monthly meeting of the general committee of the Wairarapa P. and A. Society held on Saturday. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs M. McLeod and J. Johnson. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £336 Is 7d. ' It was reported that subscriptions and donations for the current year totalling £123 17s 6d had been received and that a further £56 10s had been promised. , . , It was reported that the combined committee of the Wairarapa and Masterton A. and P. Societies had decided not to hold the annual district lamb competition this year. The meeting endorsed the committee’s action. It was resolved to ask Mr Daniell, for a report regarding material required for the damaged A. and P. Society’s building. One resignation was accepted with regret. . The secretary’s action in leasing tne society’s paddock in Kent Street was endorsed. It was decided to call tenders for the purchase of green feed in the Kent Street paddock. Mi* W. Howard Booth referred to the death of the late Mr H. S. Moss and stated that he had been one of the best secretaries the society had had. Votes of condolence were passed with Mr and Mrs W. A. Hart in the death of their son. Major I. A. Hart, and the relatives of the late Mr C. Hartley.
