Although the latest Berlin radio broadcast claims that the bulk of the German and Italian tank army in Cyrenaica have reacher prepared rallying positions, with most, of their units, all Allied reports suggest that the Axis forces’ headlong flight westwards has continued.

The Berlin correspondent of the Stockholm newspaper “Social Demokraten” reports that Rommel is m Tunis, where he is preparing to make a stand. On the other hand, Ankara despatches from Athens suggest that Rommel is preparing for an Axis “Dunkirk.” It is stated that all Greek, Italian and German ships in Greek waters have been ordered to be ready to put to sea for an unknown destination at a moment’s notice, inferring that the Axis is getting ready for an evacuation of Cyrenaica. The Berlin radio says Rommels rearguard yesterday and last night disengaged themselves from the enemy. after heavy battles, which were costly to both sides.
