RECORD ATTENDANCE
FREE TEA AT Y.M.C.A. MEMBERS OF SERVICES ENTERTAINED. WOMEN’S DIVISION EFFORT. Members of the Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union provided the free tea to men of the forces in the Y.M.C.A., Masterton, last evening. A record number of men sat down to the bountiful repast of home-made dainties. Mr T. A. Russell, representing the V M C.A. Board of Directors, introduced Mrs James president of the Rangitumau branch of the W.D.F.U., who welcomed the men. . A short devotional service was conducted by Mr Nopl Liebezeit, field secretary of the Y.M.C.A. Songs were given by Miss Doreen Jamieson and Mr T. Vaughan. Mr Vaughan played the accompaniments. The thanks of the men present were conveyed by Corporal Cheevers. Later in the evening community singing was held. Items were rendered as follows: Song, Miss F. Youngquest; piano and violin duet, Miss Tagg and Master Tagg; song and accompam- t ment, Betty Barnes. The devotions were led by Mr D. Storkey. The hospitality of the Womens Division was greatly appreciated and special reference whs made to tne abundance of good things provided at the tea.
