STATE THEATRE
“SON OF MONTE CRISTO.” Tonight there will be shown (he brilliant drama, “Son of Monte Cristo.” It is a story well told and full of exciting scenes which are not overdone. This picture has had a long run wherever it, has been shown, and audiences have been very enthusiastic over it, as it is a film which appeals to them for its all-round excellence. The scenes are splendidly constructed, and the acting is of a much higher standard than is generally seen in the average film. The chief roles are taken by Louis Hayward, Joan Bennett and George Sanders- and they have parts for which they are particularly adapted. “Son of Monte Cristo" is certainly one of the greatest romantic adventure stories ever brought to the screen. It is the type of picture that makes an immediate appeal to the young and old of both sexes, and for those who revelled in “The Count of Monte Cristo" there is the added attraction of witnessing the stirring sequel to that classic film.
