CARTERTON SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and a total clearance was effected tinder the hammer. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep: Fat wethers, to 255; fat b.f’s., to 25s lOd; fat woolly hoggets. 27s lOd: woolly ewes with b.f. lambs at foot, to 16s 6d (all counted); store ewes, to 7s. Cattle: Jersey heifers on drop, £8 15s, £9 10s, £9 15s, £lO to £lO 10s; Ayrshire cows on drop, to £lO 15s; Jersey cows on drop, £ll 5s to £l2; springing cows, £5 10s to £7; fat cows. £5. £5 Is, £5 4s, £5 9s, £5 16s to £7;; forward cows. £4 Bs. £4 15s. £4 16s to £4 18s; store cows, to £3 19s: yearling Jersey heifers. £4 15s. £5 2s to £5 7s; cows and calves, to £6 10s; bulls, £4 17s (id. £6 ss, £7 10s to £8 ss. Pigs: Heavy porkers. £3 ss. £3 Bs. £3 10s, £3 Ils to £3 12s 6d: porkers. £2 15s to £3; light porkers, £2 10s to £2 14s; store pigs, £2, £2 Is 6d to £2 3s; slips, 34s 6d to 375; weaners (gdod), 28s, 29s to 31s weaners (medium), 25s to 275; weaners (small), to 235; sow, r.w.b., to £4.
