The Argentine Foreign Minister, Senor Guinazu, has sent a message to Mr Cordell Hull (United States Secretary of State) expressing Argentina s solidarity with the United States on the operations in North Africa. . „„„„ The Associated Press of America s Buenos Aires correspondent says the message_h aroused interest because Argentina and Chile are the only South American nations maintaining relations with the Axis. The Chilean President, Senor Rios, pieviously cabled President Roosevelt, expressing approval of the North African action. The United Press correspondent in Buenos Aires says that, coincidently with a sweeping round-up of alleged Nazi agents, the Government has placed telegraphic and telephonic communications under strict control and has declared all Argentine ports military zones. ■
