MEETS SOVIET GIRL SNIPER. KILLER OF 309 GERMANS. (Special Correspondent.) LONDON, November 12. Wing Commander H. N. G. Ramsbottom Isherwood, D.F.M., A.F.C., the New Zealander, who led the Hurricane wing in Russia, met Lieutenant Ludmila Pavlichenko, a Soviet girl sniper, aged 26, who killed 309 Germans at Odessa and Sebastopol. She was visiting the sector operations room at the Spitfire station in Britain and watched Spitfires and Bostons being plotted on their way to Le Havre. Lieutenant Pavlichenko and Wing Commander Isherwood both wore their Order o£ Lenin. Lieutenant Pavlichenko heard Mr Churchill’s speech in the House of Commons.
