PIRINOA
PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) Privates O’Brien, Charteris and Ford are spending a few days leave in Pirinoa. Mrs Fred Busch, who had been in Wellington ,has returned home. Mrs Tomlin, Masterton, has been staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs O’Brien. Sister McKenzie, who holds the rank of second lieutenant in her organisation, was the guest of her sister, Mrs Sid. Oates, for a few days. Mr J. H. Tilson, Te Kopi, met with an unfortunate accident recently while on his property at Ngawi, Cape Palliser. He accidentally slipped down an embankment with the result that he fractured some ribs. The patriotic dance which was to have been held at Dyerville on Saturday evening, was postponed out of respect to the memory of Privates Flynn and Herrick, two Dyerville residents, who made the supreme sacrifice in battle in the Middle East. Both soldiers were well known in the Pirinoa district, and to their parents and relatives the deepest sympathy will be extended bv residents of the district.
