Masterton Golf Club. The official closing for the season of the Masterton Golf Club’s links will take place on Saturday when a mixed fourball medal competition will be played. Play will commence at 12.30 p.m. and afternoon tea will be served at 3.30 p.m. Shooting Season. At a meeting of the Wairarapa branch of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, held at Masterton on Tuesday night, the following resolution was unanimously carried: —“That this branch of the Wellington Society strongly supports the policy of a shooting licence for the ensuing year.” Plunket Society Subscriptions. The hon. treasurer of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society desires to acknowledge with thanks the following subscriptions: —Mesdames J. James and E. Nitz, £1; Mesdames J. Donald, Foubesher, R. R. Kirker, N. Lamont and G. A. Speedy, 10s each; Mesdames R. C. Ames, J. Major, R. E. Crockett, H. P. Parry, Goudge, G. B. Henderson, W. K. Dick, D. E. Williams and Miss H. Grant, all ss.
