TORPEDO HITS
SCORED BY BRITISH SUBMARINE. ON ENEMY WARSHIPS IN MEDITERRANEAN. (British Official Wireless.) , (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) RUGBY, Novcmbe rll. The Admiralty states that one of the British submarines operating in the Mediterranean reports that she carried out a successful attack against an enemy force of three cruisers, three destroyers and a submarine patrolling east of Sicily. The submarine scored two hits with torpedoes. Countermeasures by the enemy prevented an observation of the final results of the attack. This action is distinct from that mentioned yesterday, when a hit was claimed on an Italian six-inch gun cruiser.
