CARTERTON

BUILDING SOCIETY BALLOT RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr L. H. Smart presided over a meeting of the directors of the Terminating Building Society when ballots resulted as follow: —Mrs E. Stalford, Wellington, £300: Mr H. G. Hughan, Carterton, £600; Mr K. H. Allen, Bulls, £6OO. Christian Order Campaign. A service in connection with the Christian Order Campaign will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church tomorrow. The Rev. W. J. Cooling will be the preacher and the subjects will be:—Morning, “Why the Church?” evening, “The Christian Faith, the Difference it Makes on Monday Morning.” During the evening a solo will be sung by Mr J. L. Harris. Dance at Clareville. The dance held in the Clareville Hall last evening in aid of the Clareville District Calf Club was well attended, and a most enjoyable time was spent to music supplied by Mrs Rogers. Extras were played by Miss Lorenzen, Mr Edwards and a soldier. Mr H. K. Reid was an efficient M.C. Cubs’ Dance. There was a fair attendance at the Band Room, Carterton, last evening at a dance held in aid of the funds of the Carterton Cub troop. A most happy time was spent'to music played by Miss Mary Herrick. Mr lan Martin was M.C. The proceeds of the dance will be devoted to providing Christmas cheer for members of the troop. A home-made supper was much appreciated.
