TINUI

SUCCESSFUL DANCE IN AID OF SOLDIERS’ PARCEL FUND. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at a most successful dance held in the Tinui Hall last night, in aid of a fund for providing Christmas parcels for residents of the district on active service overseas. The dance, which was convened by Misses Audrey Cameron and Olwin Owen, reflected great credit on the organisers. A bus- which left Masterton was packed, and some patrons had to be left behind. The bus was supplied free by Transport (Wairarapa), Ltd. The music was supplied by Mr Barnes’s orchestra, and Mr Walter Schofield was a capable M.C. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss Dorothy Schofield and Mr Jack Wright. A competition for a box! of chocolates donated by Mr R. Smith was won by Miss Grace Voss. The sum of £2O, which was a most creditable result, was raised by the dance.
