DEPTHS OF INFAMY
TOUCHED BY THE VICHY TRAITORS. BETRAYAL OF REFUGEES. Reports from France that Vichy has agreed to hand over to Germany refugees from that and other oppressed countries are accompanied by the bitter comment that in this the Vichy Government has sunk to the lowest depths. Some 10,000 refugees are to be handed over. Among them are men who fought as volunteers for France in the last war and in this, who have many of them been wounded, lost a limb, bear French decorations for bravery in the field. None are to be spared. Germany has asked for them and Germany will get them. Either Vichy is deliberately collaborating with Germany or is unable to do other than obey Germany’s every desire, and in either case, whoever treats with'Vichy is treating with Hitler.
