The Germans propose to conscript 200,000 Dutchmen into the German Army, says the Tass (Soviet) news agency, quoting a Stockholm report. Examining centres will be established in all important towns.
The authorities in Trinidad disclose that Nazi submarine commanders, whose operations in the Caribbean Sea are becoming increasingly dangerous, are now resorting to “dirty tricks.” They use distress signals to lure merchantmen, or disguise the conningtower with rigging and sails in attempts to approach unescorted ships.
