MRS ROOSEVELT ENTERTAINED IN LONDON. TOUR OF CITY FIRE REGION. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) RUGBY, October 27. Today Mrs Roosevelt was the guest of honour at a luncheon given by the London County Council. The Deputy Prime Minister (Mr C. R. Attlee) and many other members of the Cabinet ana Government were present. Mr Anthony Eden (Foreign Secretary) welcomed Mrs Roosevelt in three capacities —firstly, as First Lady of the United States, secondly as the wife of the great President of a mighty nation, and thirdly and above all for herself. Replying, Mrs . Roosevelt said that, having come to Britain at the invitation of the Queen, she hoped to be able to interpret the work of the women of Britain to her own country. In the morning, Mrs Roosevelt visited the Communications Branch of the Civil Defence Headquarters. Afterwards accompanied by •Mr Herbert Morrison (Minister of Hom eSecurity) and Miss Ellen Wilkinson (Under-Se-cretary) she visited the London fire region. • . , In the evening the Prime Minister (Mr Churchill) and Mrs Churchill entertained Mrs Roosevelt at dinner.
