THE DAIRYING SEASON

SATISFACTORY OUTLOOK. So far a splendid dairying season has been experienced in the district and should the weather continue favourable the returns to dairy farmers should be very satisfactory. More milk is leaving the farms for the factory than probably ever before recorded, and the quality is showing a continual improvement. ’ Herd testing is being carried out by many wise farmers who are reaping the just reward of their foresight and business enterprise. Personal Items. Mrs Newman, Karori, has returned home from a visit to Mrs S. Grant, Pahautea. Mr and Mrs H. Lawson have received a cable from their son, Sergt.-Pilot John Lawson, that he has arrived safely at his destination. Mrs Morgan left today for Lower Hutt, where she will visit her daughter.

Mrs Louie left yesterday for Rotorua, where she will spend a holiday with her sister, Mrs K. McClellan.

COSY THEATRE “SOUTH OF TAHITI.”

Tonight’s outstanding programme is headed by the thrilling adventure story, “South of Tahiti,” featuring Maria Monetz, Brian Donlevy and Broderick Crawford. The brilliant comedy “Four Jacks and a Jill,” will also be shown. In this offering Ann Shirley and Ray Bolger have the leading roles.
