WORKERS FOR GERMANY
PETAIN REFUSES TO BROADCAST APPEAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, October 22. Marshal Petain refused to broadcast a plea to French workers to go to Germany, says the British United Press. Unrest against the attempted mobilisation, it is reported, has tied up many French railway services.
