FEATHERSTON
RED CROSS SOCIETY A SPLENDID RECORD OF SERVICE. ("Times-Age” Special.) During the present war . the local branch of the Red Cross Society has once again proved its value as a patriotic organisation, and has quietly and without seeking the limelight carried out the duties associated with the objects for which the institution exists in a most conscientious manner. The officials of the society devote considerable time to their wbrk, and they have reason to feel very proud of the manner in which they are performing patriotic duties of the most essential character, their efforts being greatly appreciated by the - various sections of the fighting services to whom they have rendered assistance. In the home and in the public interests generally the local society is performing work of a most beneficial character, and is helping substantially to mold character and provide knowledge in regard to first aid, etc., in the home as well as publicly. The town and district is indeed fortunate in having such a capable band of officials at the head of the society during the present strenuous times, and its operations are particularly appreciated by the residents of the area covered by its ramifications.
