LEVY ON HIDES
REDUCTION IN SOME RATES

WELLINGTON. This Day. The following alterations have been made in the export levy on hides: —Ox hides and cow hides have been reduced to ljd a pound; bull hides have been increased to Id a pound; yearlings have been increased to l : !,d a pound. Calf skins, other than freezers, are unchanged at 3d. The new rates are operative from October 24, and every endeavour will be made by the Hides Committee to retain these rates for twelve months.
